Washington directing Rat Packer's biopic.
First, Denzel Washington took on the life story of Antwone Fisher. Now, the world's most accomplished living actor is ready to take on a Hollywood icon. Universal Pictures and Brian Glazer's Imagine Entertainment have optioned the rights to the Wil Haygood novel, In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis Jr. Haygood is also poised to pen the script about the legendary Rat Pack member, which Washington will turn into his second directorial effort. He is not, however, expected to act in the film. This project will compete with the Eddie Griffin-attached film based on the Davis autobiography, Yes I Can. The actor and musician's widow, Altovise Davis, is working on that production.
