Paramount remaking The Naked Jungle
The 1954 Charlton Heston B-movie classic The Naked Jungle is the latest notable film to get a re-make. Paramount Pictures has enlisted Jonathan Hensleigh to write and direct the update. The original saw a South American farmer meet his mail-order bride only to have their romantic interlude unexpectedly delayed. The duo is forced to war against a legion of gigantic marching ants. In this version, the lead actor will still be a plantation owner, but the woman will be a corporate negotiator seeking to purchase his land. Ostensibly, advances in CGI technology make the idea of a remake more appealing.
