Kilmer stars with Streep
Val Kilmer has signed on to star opposite Meryl Streep in Dark Matter, a drama to be directed by Chen Shi-Zheng. The fact-based film is about a Chinese university student who has a violent reaction when his chances for a Nobel Prize are shattered due to school politics. Liu Ye will play the student.

Myriad has Dark Matter
Myriad Pictures has picked up worldwide rights to Dark Matter, with
Greg Kinnear starring opposite Meryl Streep and Chinese actor Liu Ye.
The movie is inspired by a true story and centers around a Chinese
academic who is given special status to study in the U.S. The student
is examining the origins of the universe and is dreaming of winning
the Nobel Prize for a theory on dark matter. His aspirations to do so
find landmines due to campus politics, ultimately resulting in
tragedy.
Chen Shi-Zheng, an opera director, will make his feature film debut
with the project. The screenplay was written by Billy Shebar.
