Levinson to Direct Hanks-Moore Western
Barry Levinson will direct Boone's Lick for Playtone, a long-in-development project with Tom Hanks and Julianne Moore set to star. It was written by Larry McMurty and Diana Ossana, who collaborated on Brokeback Mountain, and is a western about a headstrong woman (Moore) who brings her family on a wagon ride from Boone's Lick, Missouri to the Wyoming fort where her husband lives. Hanks plays her brother-in-law who escorts the family on the rocky journey and they fall in love along the way.
